Job Opening – Warehouse Lead

Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversee safe and efficient unloading of deliveries and check-in of materials.
- Complete daily forklift inspections and communicate any concerns to management.
- Lead and assist with batch production of wood, vinyl, chainlink, and welded fence products.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and secure shop yard, warehouse, and inventory areas.
- Review daily jobs, plan workflow with the team, and ensure production is on schedule.
- Second-check jobs staged by others and assist crews with loading materials each morning.
- Help retail and wholesale customers with material pick-up and loading.
- Perform routine inspections of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and AEDs.
- Run the yard magnet weekly (or more often as needed) to maintain a safe work area.
- Step in to cover for the Production & Warehouse Manager as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Set a positive example of professionalism, leadership, and pride in quality workmanship.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient forklift operation.
- Experience leading daily work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to set clear expectations.
- Skilled in safe setup, operation, and training of shop equipment.
- Able to accurately count inventory, follow work orders, and read tape measures.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing LEAN practices.
- Valid Maine driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- Confident and assertive leadership style that encourages safe, efficient work.
Experience and Training:
- Familiarity with woodworking, metalworking, and production tools.
- Willingness to learn CNC programming, welding, and other shop technologies.
- Completion of OSHA 10-Hour Course.
- Comfortable with math, power tools, and hands-on physical work.
Job Description Allenfarm Fence Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in a physical environment: standing, lifting (up to 80 lbs), bending, reaching.
- Comfortable navigating a busy shop, warehouse, and distribution yard.
- Occasional travel required via company vehicle or public transport.
